So this weekend was AMAZING to say the least: Flagstaff, 8 girls, one cabin, jason mraz concert, the burb, tunes, aladin, smores, ice blocking, mac n cheese, red bull, spooning and starbucks...

we all pilled in the burb and talked, slept and watched aladin on the way there:

First weekend of Senior Year...

we decided to take pictures with the naked statues out front...

Cindy joined in on the dance contest before the show started....

she had some tough competition so she had to warm up before the contest began.

she was a dancin machine...haha get it, the robot....dancin machine....

the girl on the left couldn't resist checkin out her opponent.

it was all fun n games until the creepy host man started cuttin the rug with poor cindy

...but she made the most of it and was a finalist in the competition.

afterwards we went to Mac's house (in picture: Mandi and Mac)

and had some peanut butter!

It's funny how sometimes things that you never thought would happen, happen. And once they have you are never the same because of it. You can look back on it no matter how long its been and laugh. And that laugh has become so familiar that every time you let it out its just a laugh of personal relief. And eventually the people you surround yourself with know that same laugh all too well and there is a silent understanding of its meaning.

I got back to NC yesterday from DC. I miss all of my CSLC pals like crazy. You guys are so incredible. I can't believe all of it happened in just one week. All of us have to go again together next year. I miss y'all!

I get back to AZ tomorrow night. I can't wait to see all of my friends and I can't believe that survived almost 2 months without y'all.

The post office lost all of our mail when we were gone so I don't know what my schedule is. I'll post it when I figure it out.

Well Ive been in North Carolina for two weeks now and it's worse than i thought it would be. I miss my friends more than i thought i would and i miss the sun. all it does is rain here and its humid beyone belief. But I did find a new found appreciation for the self checkout counter in certain grocery stores.

We're off to the outter banks around 10 and I guess that should be a little better. I borrowed Rachel's board so I'll be able to surf for a week. My brother just heard news that he is allowed to walk on the sand (he tore his MCL and PCL) but he can't go in the water or do anything that is fun. He can't go hang-gliding, jet skiing, or surfing. What a waste. I feel bad for him and it sucks because now I have to do all of the alone or with my parents. Hopefully something exciting will happen and this trip won't be as monotonous as my summer. A girl can only dream right?

Wasting Away the Seconds

So I'm getting on the plane to go to North Carolina at 3 in the afternoon. It is already the 21st and I wish I could go back in time. I don't want to be in North Carolina all summer. I don't want to be isolated from my friends. I don't want to be in the humid air of the south. I don't want to get my southern accent back. I don't want to drive on streets I'm not familiar with. I don't want to be anywhere but Phoenix, Arizona with my Phoenix, Arizona friends doing Phoenix, Arizona things. I spent so many years of my life trying to get out of Phoenix and rejecting it and now all I want to do is stay here and appreciate it. I would do anything to preserve my time right now. It feels wierd to pack all of my things: all of my clothes, all of my books, all of my possesions. I DONT WANT TO BE INDEPENDENT THIS SUMMER! all I want to do is be dependent on my friends like I have been my whole life. I just can't look on the bright side of things when I know that everything I want is here and will soon be unattainable.

The Format

Today was officially my birthday. I am the big 1-7.

I got most of my presents (i get cindy's tomorrow) which were all interesting and fun and i loved them!
So tonight we decided to go to the format concert at the mason jar. It was an awesome concert and a great birthday present because nate said happy birthday to me on stage and inserted my name into one of his old songs. It was awesome. Afterward we talked with Nate and Sam and got a picture with them. They were so cool and down to earth it only makes me love their music more. It was a great concert and a great night and a great birthday.

today has been original to say the least.

I have the best group of friends I could ask for.
A couple of them spent the night last night even though I had to get up early in the morning to go to the ACT's.

I came back from testing exhausted after getting to bed so late last night and spending the whole day at the lake yesterday, leaving me burnt to a crisp. I opened the door to my apartment and there were rows of 100 candles leading to my bedroom. I opened the door to my room and it was completely decked out with more candles, and balloons, and signs, and streamers, and sheets covering the windows (apparently my pj pants covered the windows too). All of my closest friends were sitting with a cake and sang to me for my birthday. It looked amazing and I couldn't have been more surprised. It was definitely an event I'll remember forever. Thanks guys.

The only thing missing was an opportunity to use the slip in slide that was planned after the surprise. We were all so sunburned we couldn't even think about jumping and sliding down a plastic sheet. But it was a good idea nonetheless and I can't wait till these burns go away.

last night was fun. It started out with just us girls swimming at Lindsey's. There was an ASIAN party next door with cheifs and everything, I wish I could have an asian party. We had people over at Lindsey's house that night and we watched Donnie Darko and then just hung out. No curfew for once. What a relief. After everyone went home, Lindsey, Allison and I threw pebbles at Mandi's window to wake her up at one in the morning. It was like in the movies, ive always wanted to do that. So then we just hung out with Mandi till two and then went home. Summer has begun...

Yesterday was such a wierd day. It was one of those timeless days where you can do a million things and no matter how long it feels like its been, its still daylight. It was relaxing. We did absolutely nothing and had the best time doing it. I can't wait until we have another.
