By nine A.M. you've already pissed off your father by telling him you'd rather rebreak your leg than accompany him in watching early morning football. At eleven A.M. you point out to your mom that she's preparing way too much food for four people, which drives her to the first of many glasses of chardonnay. At noon, your grandmother has already asked you a bizillion times if you have a boyfriend, then forgotten she's asked, and asked another bizillion times, and forgotten, and so on until she leaves. By one P.M. you turn off the TV for the day when you realize there's nothing on but football and more football. Turkey on the table at three-thirty P.M. Dessert served at four P.M. The tryptophan kicks in and you're asleep before the five o'clock news. I woke up from my food coma at eight P.M. There was nothing to do."

It's funny how sometimes things that you never thought would happen, happen. And once they have you are never the same because of it. You can look back on it no matter how long its been and laugh. And that laugh has become so familiar that every time you let it out its just a laugh of personal relief. I got back to NC yesterday from DC. I miss all of my CSLC pals like crazy. You guys are so incredible. I can't believe all of it happened in just one week. All of us have to go again together next year. I miss y'all!
I get back to AZ tomorrow night. I can't wait to see all of my friends and I can't believe that survived almost 2 months without y'all.
The post office lost all of our mail when we were gone so I don't know what my schedule is. I'll post it when I figure it out.

Well Ive been in North Carolina for two weeks now and it's worse than i thought it would be. I miss my friends more than i thought i would and i miss the sun. all it does is rain here and its humid beyone belief. But I did find a new found appreciation for the self checkout counter in certain grocery stores.
We're off to the outter banks around 10 and I guess that should be a little better. I borrowed Rachel's board so I'll be able to surf for a week. My brother just heard news that he is allowed to walk on the sand (he tore his MCL and PCL) but he can't go in the water or do anything that is fun. He can't go hang-gliding, jet skiing, or surfing. What a waste. I feel bad for him and it sucks because now I have to do all of the alone or with my parents. Hopefully something exciting will happen and this trip won't be as monotonous as my summer. A girl can only dream right?

So I'm getting on the plane to go to North Carolina at 3 in the afternoon. It is already the 21st and I wish I could go back in time. I don't want to be in North Carolina all summer. I don't want to be isolated from my friends. I don't want to be in the humid air of the south. I don't want to get my southern accent back. I don't want to drive on streets I'm not familiar with. I don't want to be anywhere but Phoenix, Arizona with my Phoenix, Arizona friends doing Phoenix, Arizona things. I spent so many years of my life trying to get out of Phoenix and rejecting it and now all I want to do is stay here and appreciate it. I would do anything to preserve my time right now. It feels wierd to pack all of my things: all of my clothes, all of my books, all of my possesions. I DONT WANT TO BE INDEPENDENT THIS SUMMER! all I want to do is be dependent on my friends like I have been my whole life. I just can't look on the bright side of things when I know that everything I want is here and will soon be unattainable.
Don't forget me...

Today was officially my birthday. I am the big 1-7.
I got most of my presents (i get cindy's tomorrow) which were all interesting and fun and i loved them!
So tonight we decided to go to the format concert at the mason jar. It was an awesome concert and a great birthday present because nate said happy birthday to me on stage and inserted my name into one of his old songs. It was awesome. Afterward we talked with Nate and Sam and got a picture with them. They were so cool and down to earth it only makes me love their music more. It was a great concert and a great night and a great birthday.
